1. Zastavit službu BITS, službu Windows Update a Kryptografickou službu

2. Odstraňte soubory qmgr*.dat

Del "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Network\Downloader\qmgr*.dat"

7. Restart služby BITS, službu Windows Update a Kryptografické služby

    net start bits
    net start wuauserv
    net start appidsvc
    net start cryptsvc

8. Pouze pro Windows Vista - vyprázdnit frontu BITS

bitsadmin.exe /reset /allusers

9. Nainstalovat nejnovějšího agenta webu Windows Update

Při automatické instalaci agenta stačí zastavit a spustit službu Windows Update (pro WXP Automatic Updates)
